Is it difficult to use Ser-Rem?

Ser-Rem was created specially for people who have only 1-2 phones and don't have time to become experts in Motorola unlocking. Thousands of customers have already unlocked their phones since 2005 when Ser-Rem Server was launched. We have been constantly improving Ser-Rem. As a result, it is now more user-friendly than ever before. It is stable and fault-tolerant. In most cases, you will only need to select the model of your phone, the command, and then to click "Start".

System Requirements

  • Windows 7 (x86 & x64), Windows Vista (x86 & x64), Windows XP (x86 & x64), Windows 2000 (x86).
  • Administrator privileges.
  • Internet Explorer 5.0 or above.
  • Internet connection (at least DialUp modem).
  • USB data cable.

Download and install Ser-Rem

(skip this if you already have it installed)

  1. Use one of the following links to download Ser-Rem setup:

Ser-Rem Setup in EXE file525 kB Download Ser-Rem Now

  3. Double-click on the setup icon. Please note that you will need to approve administrator privileges for this installation.
  4. Click "Next" on the welcome page. You are advised to keep the default settings.
  5. When you click "Finish" Ser-Rem will start.

Free trial account

  • Test account does not require any registration.
  • It is not time-limited. You can use it as long as you need.
  • Some functions (Unlock, Repair, etc) are restricted. You will need to purchase a credit to have them activated.
  1. Please put "test" into the Ser-Rem fields "User name" and "Password". If you have bought a real account then fill in the Ser-Rem corresponding fields with the login information received after the purchase.
  2. Click "Sign In". Wait about 30 seconds to get connected to the Server.

Connect the phone

  1. Select your Motorola model from the Ser-Rem drop-down list.
  2. Make sure the phone's battery is fully charged.
  3. Turn the phone ON in Normal mode. Don't put it in Flash mode.
  4. Connect it to the computer using a USB cable:
    • You should NOT use any USB hubs or extension cords. Connect the USB cable directly to the back side of the computer case.
    • Please use good original cable. Thin and cheap cable may cause connection errors.

Motorola USB drivers

(skip this if you already have the drivers installed)

  1. Select "Drivers install..." in Ser-Rem.
  2. Click "Start". Wait about 30 seconds for the drivers to install.
  • Please note: this means only that the drivers are present in the system. But Windows will install all the drivers separately for each USB port and for each Motorola model later.
  • Some Motorola phones have up to 20 virtual USB interfaces. Please be patient and wait till Windows installs all of them.
  • Virtual USB interfaces will be switched while Ser-Rem is working. This is the reason why you will need to accept "Found New Hardware Wizard" as many times as the software requires. Please note: this practice is normal when drivers are installed for the first time or reinstalled.

Check unlock possibility

  1. Select "Check Unlock Possibility" in Ser-Rem.
  2. Click "Start". It may take a few minutes when you do it for the first time. Please follow the instructions and be patient while Ser-Rem is searching for the USB interfaces. Don't reinstall drivers many times. Don't press "Cancel" in Message Boxes, they contain information and instruction to make everything work.

Buy an account if your phone can be unlocked

  • The account and the credits on the account have no time limitation. You can use them now, or in a year. Your account will not be suspended in any case.
  • After unlocking, the system checks whether the phone is really unlocked or not. Your credit will not be removed until your Motorola phone is really unlocked.
  • Your account will not expire after all credits are used. You can unlock the same phone using the same account after all credits are used, therefore don't forget your login info. This will help you to unlock or upgrade your phone for free in future.
  • Each account has 1 or several credits. 1 credit = 1 unlocked Motorola phone.
  • The purchased credits will be instantly and automatically delivered to your email address upon payment completion.
